Slow down

Well probably

“And So!”

2020= lockdown, trumps parastism extending putridness all over the west- wake up stupid yankees, stop me now, but anyway at least some social media commentators over there have gone on mad attacking “Dear Leader”. Good. Samantha Bee I salute you as well as a few others.

Don’t like to say but times are a changing. I have not been off the block this last week, hopefully another project rears it’s head soon, the garden has been “shredded” but cannot dump the mess- “non-essential travel”? My SA…

Did I ever mention I am now a multi-prop drone pilot? Even got paid for some promotional drilling rig pictures last year while on a drilling job, most satisfying. And also a model plane owner/learner driver- just in case a fixed wing drone job cames up, the local RC club is great for training*. Taking part in a drone survey of the local seashore at Seaspray- a uni project using community members to help see what goes on over three years. (by the way, planes need to be flown, multirotors do not- interesting, can see why both are not really toys to me anymore)

A new yacht graces the water down the little pond, and an updated older model sports a new rig, they are both most excellent little boats. And like real ones, cost to keep sailing the little bastard things! New servos, new receivers, the list….

Spent time repairing or making sure two old portable CD players work and both twenty five years old- one had shit batteries ands ruined battery compartment so it only works on acdc power now, ouch, but has a line out jack- the sony one does not, but as a marvin example- both had the “hold” switch on, held me back ten miutes til I worked that out, did not want chuck out more bloody modern technology- I do hate that.

Just finishing off a small garage cleanout- last two boxes of SF mags. I first started reading and then buying Ananlog Science Fact and Science Fiction, Isaac Asimov’s SF mag, and Fantasy and SF magasines in 1979 when I started uni, work that bookshelf length! Very sad to find out that the recyclers do not take books and magasines for recycling- straight to the trash pile! I did not think anyone would want them so bye bye over half my lifetime’s reading material. But, it is online so really no floods of tears.

Speedsurfing. A new name. Hmm. Anyway, replacing two or three sails and can say about time, but then I HAVE ALREADY PUT HOLES IN THEM, argh.
New sailing place is Lake George over the border in South Australia. If I would move it more than likely would be toward the boder. “LG” is just fkin great.

My father is looking after The Derg- I asked him to mind The Derg as he is getting a littlwe lonely with the Corvid19 crap, mum is in a lockdown, so he is better off with the company of The Derg and a canary.  Sure I miss it, but really, I want The Gels to look after it!

One prodigal child tried to work in the UK, but again the Corvid19 thing stuffed him and his partner up, lucky to get them both back to Oz two weeks ago, but better here than the uk really. (thanks to his “in-laws”, grateful for that help I am).

Another child busy in last undergrad year, the other student doing well in her second year, and the pack leader is a working from home journo other side of the big smoke.

I am looking for more work as last years funds are starting to peter out. Finger crossed plans work out.
